The Design Assistance Service was created to offer essential help to complete crucial development tasks: schematic review, placement review, debugging and a general/special database of technologies for reference purposes. All services reduce design risks associated with completing customer carrier boards.

Schematic Review
    Advantech Design Assistance is a review service based on customer carrier board schematics for COM module functions. This service is preventative, and helps to catch design errors before they happen. Design Assistance helps to save a lot of time and costs with regard to developing carrier boards.

Placement/Layout Review
    Besides supplying a schematic review, the COM Design Assistance Service provides a placement & layout review service on the customer’s carrier board, with respect to COM module related functions. These reviews provide suggestions for improving signal quality and anticipate possible mechanical conflicts.

Debugging Assistance Services
   The COM Design Assistance Service provides debugging for customer carrier boards with specific regard for COM module issues. Advantech has many years of experience, and we can supply bug-fixing suggestions to customers, quickly and effectively.

General/Special Reference Design Database
   Advantech's COM unit has built up a reference design database to offer customers rapid and reliable technology choices for completing carrier board projects. Advantech's reference design database has been verified with a variety of Advantech design projects, these mature proven technologies help reduce design risk associated with the implementation of new functions that have not already been tested.

  General Reference Design Database

Default functions which are defined according to COM-Express, ETX, XTX, SOM-144 standards for PCI, ISA, LAN, USB, PCI Express and others.

  Special Reference Design Database

Extra functions may be specified which are not already defined in the standard specifications, like: super I/O, PCMCIA, and dual Ethernet.
Advantech reserves the right to determine, on a case by case basis, whether or not COM Design Support Services are appropriate.
